Alcoi has inaugurated its Center of Excellence and Data Office (CEOD), a space dedicated to innovation and the smart management of urban data.

During the event, the Mayor of Alcoi, Toni Francés, stressed that “this center was created with the aim of being a tool at the service of society, a space that strengthens an increasingly important sector and which will translate directly into improvements in the quality of life and local economic activity.” Alcoi, he added, “demonstrates with this project that innovation does not depend on size, but on commitment to the future of cities.”

For his part, Vicent Moltó, head of the Alcoi CEOD, highlighted that the center “is here to stay, with the intention of having companies work autonomously and collaboratively around the data economy.” The CEOD will offer advice, training, and opportunities for the development of open innovation projects, taking advantage of its strategic location next to the Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València in Alcoi and the Rodes Urban Technological Park.
