The Jerez CEOD launches ‘sectoral breakfasts’ with the media

The Jerez Center of Excellence and Data Office (CEOD) held the first of its Sectoral Breakfasts. Local press professionals participated in this meeting, thanks to the collaboration of the Jerez Press Association (APJ), where they discussed how data and digitalization can transform the city.

The importance of data in Jerez

The Deputy Mayor for Digital Transformation, José Ignacio Martínez, highlighted the relevance of the CEOD: “The goal is to promote the strategic use of data to improve public services, business competitiveness, and innovation in the city.”

Under the slogan EDINT Sectoral Breakfasts: dialogues that transform, the importance of data, digitalization, and opportunities for improvement in the press sector were addressed.

Martínez underlined the City Council’s commitment to data governance: “These breakfasts are starting with the press sector because it is key for citizens to receive clear and useful information,” he stated.

  • Clear, unified, and secure data.

  • Interoperable information across different platforms.

  • Collaborative intelligence to improve public services.

Complementary projects: smart tourist destinations

The CEOD is also linked to other digitalization projects, such as the development of smart tourist destinations, where data centralization will allow for more complete and accessible information for citizens.

Sandra Fano, technical head of the CEOD, explained that the sectoral breakfasts seek to bring strategic sectors and citizens closer to the benefits of data spaces, starting with the media, “our voice to the public.”

The Jerez CEOD is located in the Digital Transformation Department (Larga Street) and, with it, the city joins the 12 EDINT centers in Spain, designed as ethical, secure, and interoperable spaces for data analysis and processing.
