Málaga City Council has taken a new step in its commitment to urban innovation with the inauguration of the Center of Excellence and Data Office (CEOD), a space designed to foster the data economy and strengthen the sustainable and technological development of the municipality.

This new center is integrated into the EDINT —Data Spaces for Smart Urban Infrastructures— project, an initiative led by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and funded through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, in collaboration with the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function, through Red.es.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre Prados, the Councillor for Innovation, Alicia Izquierdo, and representatives from Red.es, the FEMP, and the EDINT technical team. A discussion panel was also held with companies participating in the project, such as Cibernos and Kapsch Trafficcom, who highlighted the opportunities this shared data ecosystem opens for local innovation.
