Fuenlabrada launches its CEOD to improve mobility, urban management, and public services

Fuenlabrada City Council has inaugurated its Center of Excellence and Data Office (CEOD), a new space from which to drive data-driven projects and move toward more efficient, sustainable, and people-centered urban management.

The event included representatives from the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, the Community of Madrid Cybersecurity Agency, the FEMP, and the City Council itself, as well as teams from Carlos III University, the Bank of Spain, and companies such as MassOrange.

A space to drive real improvements in the city

Fuenlabrada’s CEOD will work on data-driven projects to improve three key areas:

  • Smart mobility: sustainable transport and more efficient urban planning.
  • Resource management and public services: optimizing water, energy, and municipal facilities.
  • Local competitiveness: boosting economic activity and skilled employment.

These lines of work will make it possible to develop solutions that are faster, more accurate, and better tailored to residents’ needs.

Sharing experiences and a forward-looking vision

The inauguration included three roundtables focused on key topics such as data governance, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and sustainability. In addition, the Fuenlabrada City Council’s data-driven city strategy was presented.

The event concluded with Raquel Pérez, Councillor for Innovation, who highlighted the municipality’s commitment to continuing to move toward a more connected, more efficient, and more people-centered city.
